Nova Fly Screen Door Kits contain everything you need to build and install a robust rigid hinged door to keep out flies and insects whilst your main door remains open. Ideal for domestic and commercial use you will be able to build a door up to 1000mm wide x 2100mm high.

The frame is coated aluminium and the corners are made from PVC so they do not rust.

The single action (only opens one way) Nova Door is face fitted so the hinges and catch are fixed to the front of the frame rather than the side. The outer profile is 30mm wide so you should ideally measure the size of the opening and add 60mm (30mm each side) to the width and 30mm to the height to determine the size of the door. The additional allowance can be less than 60mm as long as the door can close against the frame.

You should also make sure there is 20mm clearance on the frame to fix the hinges and 15mm on the opposite side to fit the catch.

If you have specified a frame then 60mm (30mm each side) should be subtracted from the width of the opening and 60mm (only 30mm if a 3-sided frame is specified) from the height.

There are a number of add-on options available so that you can bespoke your order to your specific needs:

The standard kickplate is silver coloured stucco alumimium this can be swapped for a white or brown one;

There is an option to add a push plate to protect the mesh from being ripped. Push plates are available in silver, white or brown. An additional mid-bar is provided to secure the plate to and give more strength.

Our standard insect mesh in charcoal is provided as part of the kit. However stainless steel, aluminium or harder wearing tuff mesh, can be purchased as an option;

A brush strip can be purchased to fit to the bottom of the door. This is available in silver, white or brown and is particularly useful when the floor is uneven or the fly screen door needs to open over a threshold;

A door closer can be added so that it makes coming in and out easier. This is either a simple spring mechanism or a pneumatic version available;

Sometimes it is difficult to hang the door from an existing frame or wall. In such cases we can provide a subframe which is fixed in place and the fly screen door is hung from this. There are options for a 3-sided and 4-sided version where the 4th side is fixed to the floor or threshold. The subframe is made from the same coated aluminium profile.
