Nova Fly Screen Door Kits contain everything you need to build and install a robust rigid hinged door to keep out flies and insects whilst your main door remains open. Ideal for domestic and commercial use you will be able to build a double action (that swings inwards and outwards) door up to 1000mm wide x 2100mm high.  The double action door is frequently specified for commercial kitchens, pubs, bars and restaurants to allow access more easily. As they are used in high traffic areas, we provide an extra kickplate and a reinforcing bar to support this. 

The double action door cannot be face fitted therefore when measuring for the width of the door please measure the width of the opening and then allow 20mm for the installation of the double action hinge and 5mm for the catch. The height of the door is the same size as the opening but we suggest you leave 5mm - 10mm clearance for ease of fitting.

If you are adding a frame then an additional 60mm (30mm each side) needs to be subtracted from the door width and height (30mm from the height if a 3-sided frame is ordered).

If you wish us to cut the profile exactly to length then we will cut to the exact measurements supplied.

There are a number of add-on options available so that you can bespoke your order to your specific needs:

The standard kickplates are silver coloured staccio alumimium: these can be swapped for white or brown ones;

There is an option to add push plates to protect the mesh from being ripped. Push plates are available in silver, white or brown. An additional mid-bar is provided for extra strength and to secure the plate to;

Our standard insect mesh, in charcoal, is provided as part of the kit. However stainless steel, aluminium or harder wearing tuff mesh, can be purchased as an option;

A brush strip can be purchased to fit to the bottom of the door. This is available in silver, white or brown and is particularly useful when the floor is uneven or the fly screen door needs to open over a threshold;

A door closer can be added so that it makes coming in and out easier. This is either a simple spring mechanism or a more robust barrel spring;

Sometimes it is difficult to hang the door from an existing frame or wall. In such cases we can provide a subframe which is fixed in place and the fly screen door is hung from this. There are options for a 3-sided and 4-sided version where the 4th side is fixed to the floor or threshold. The subframe is made from the same coated aluminium profile.
