The Genius 46 retractable mesh window fly screen kit is a robust product for both domestic and commercial use. The kits contain everything you need to build and install your screen.

The retractable mesh screen is housed in an unobtrusive cassette fitted to the top of the window frame. The extended screen is locked in place by catches housed in the side guides. 

The standard kit comes with a spring mechanism which is inserted into the cassette. We can assemble the mechanism in our workshop for a small additional charge.

Also available is a brake that ensures the screen retracts smoothly rather than snapping back under the tension of the spring.

There are intermittent stops available if you have top and bottom opening windows.

There is a corded mechanism available to replace the spring one, very much like standard roller blinds.

Genuis 46 Kits have 4 mesh types to choose from ;

+ Standard upto 1700mm drop - 18 x 16 nylon coated fibreglass

+ Standard upto 2500mm drop - 18 x 16 nylon coated fibreglass - please choose this if your drop is morethan 1700mm

+ Tuff Mesh upto 1500mm drop - 17 x 13 hard wearing polyester - also know as pet mesh and is more hard wearing than standard mesh

+ Bettervue upto 1700mm drop - 18 x 18 nylon coated fibreglass: the weave is slightly less dense and is used where you want to see through the screen more clearly but still have a good level of protection

 + Window Measurement +

Both Unika and Genius 46 retractable mesh screen cassettes, which house the mesh wound onto a barrel, can be face fitted to a window frame using "face fitting L-brackets" or can be hung from the underside of the recess using "M-clips"). Aesthetically using M-clips allows the blind to appear more integrated with the window frame. The weight of the cassette is also supported by the side-guides which can be face fitted or fixed to the side of the recess.

To obtain the width required measure the width in millimetres ensuring there is at least 30mm each side (60mm in total) to fix the Unika side guides or 40mm each side (80mm in total) to fit Genius 46. It is advisable to measure at the top middle and bottom of the window and to take the narrowest measurement.

Recess Fitting: measure from the underside of the reveal to the windowsill and subtract 5mm for the M-clip fitting.

Face Fitting: measure from the underside of the recess to the windowsill and subtract 15mm for the L-brackets. 

We will cut the cassette and side guides to fit your exact measurements. This includes allowances for the spring mechanism in the cassette, the brackets or clips and catches at the bottom of the side guides.

+ Door Measurement +

Both Unika and Genius 46 retractable mesh screens for doors can be recess or face fitted.

For the height measure from the underside of the recess to the floor and subtract 5mm to ease fitting. 

For the width measure from one side of the recess to the other. If face fitting using L-brackets subtract 15mm for a single door and 30mm for a double one.

The Unika cassette is 43mm deep, the top and bottom guides are 30mm each and the magnetic closing strip is 22mm deep. Please ensure the door frame is sufficiently wide to fix each of the elements too.

The Genius 46 cassette is 46mm deep, the bottom guide and magnetic closing strip (used for single doors only) are 22mm deep and the top guide 40mm deep. Please ensure the door frame is sufficiently wide to fix each of these elements too.
