If you want to save a little and enjoy a bit of a DIY, then this may be the solution for you. The kit comes with everything you need to build your own chain screen and is supplied with straightforward instructions. This option is cheaper than our assembled screens as it does not include our labour costs. However, we still provide high quality commercial grade anodised aluminium chain and a robust silver hanging rail, giving years of use. We supply DIY Kits in 3 sizes.

There are 3 different size options for the DIY Kit:

DIY 90- screens up to 90cm x 210cm (35.5" x 82.5")

DIY 120- screens up to 120cm x 210cm (47.25" x 82.5")

DIY 150- screens up to 150cm x 210cm (59" x 82.5").

The kit consists of bags of chain, hanging rail, fixings and instructions.

As additional extras a coloured hanging rail, hanging brackets or ceiling brackets can be added to your order.

When measuring for a door or window chain fly screen, take the opening size and add 2cm (0.75") to the width so the screen overlaps the frame, and add 5cm (2") to the height to account for the hanging rail. The finished size of the screen supplied will be the size requested including the hanging rail. The links are 24mm in length so screens will be +/- 12mm.

The brackets that can be purchased separately are 35mm in depth and you need an additional 15mm (50mm in total) clearance above the door/window so that the hanging rail can be hooked over the top. The brackets are supplied with screws to fit to PVC, wooden and metal frames. Ceiling Brackets are also available. Matching coloured screw caps are also provided along with simple installation instructions. We supply all chain products with 3 wood screws and 3 self-tapping screws if brackets arent purchased - these can be used to hang the chain rail. We recommend a pair of brackets for each 1m width.

The DIY150 curtain hanging rail comes is 2 sections of 75cm each for ease of fitting. If you would like it sending in one piece please give us a call or send us an email.
